Upside Down Matchbook Treat Holders

Have made the Matchbook Treat holders in the past that hold the Fun Size M&M candies. Here is a photo of the treat holders I had made for Halloween:

As you can see in the above photo I had these Matchbook holders close with the flap at the bottom of the holder like a matchbook would close.

For Valentine's Day I wanted to again use the pattern for the Matchbook treat holder but this time I used it upside down and these holders close at the top:

These holders are black card stock for the base and the printed card stocks I used is Hobby Lobby. The pattern is:

One sheet of 8 1/2" x 11" card stock (this will make 4 Matchbook treat holders). With the 8 1/2" side of the card stock at the top of the score board you need to score this at 3/4", 4 1/2", and again at 5". Once it is scored take this to the trimmer with the 11" edge at the top of your trimmer. Cut this piece every 2 3/4" until you have four pieces.

For the printed card stock on the fronts of my holders I cut those at 2 1/2" x 3 1/4". Used the ATG to put my printed card stocks onto the black base. REMEMBER if you should be using printed card stocks that have a directional pattern as I have, be sure to put your printed card stock onto the black base so that your pattern will not be upside down on the front of your holder.

Once the printed card stocks are on your holders use the bone folder and crease your scored lines. Put a Fun Size bag of M&Ms inside the holder and use a stapler to close your holder -- being sure that your staple catches the end of the bag of M&Ms and also that your staple is near the edge of your treat holder flap -- you need the staple to be close to the edge of your holder flap so that you will have room to tuck your treat holder front under the flap to keep the holder closed. See photo:

Once you have your staple in place cover that with a ribbon tied in a knot and put that onto the holder using a glue dot:

Now you can decorate the front of your holders with a greeting or holiday stamps or whatever you would like. These Matchbook treat holders are also free standing. TFL and YOLO
