Back on .... back to work ....

Hurricane Matthew.... the weather people here told us that we would have "wind gusts" and "periods of heavy rains".... WRONG --- Saturday afternoon the heaviest of rains began and late afternoon POP we were in the dark.... Did not venture outside with the weather but Sunday morning we drove up the block and DH took this photo of the cause of it all ---

Besides knocking out our power for three days this tree also blocked the road for traffic. Someone eventually came along and cut off part of the tree that was in the road and there it sat. . .

Other than that we have seen no one from the utility company until this morning -- happy to say  we heard chain saws humming.... approx 4 hours later??? We now have power back.... ahhhh...  Also happy to say as bad as this was we had no serious flooding in our area so that is good. Here is a photo of the lines back up and working again:

Lesson learned -- any hurricane near the area will be taken seriously no matter what the weather guy says... Know there are so many others still without power and still being evacuated so wishing them all well and sunny skies...

But for me it is back to work tomorrow and back to crafting.... Thanks Brenda in IN for the nice comment on my blog --- as bad as this was it was nothing compared to others. TFL

Dear Candee, Have been watching Matthew and it is affecting so many of family and friends, from Jacksonville,FL to Yorktown, VA. Am so thankful that you did not suffer the brunt of its fury, am still waiting to hear how most are doing. Thank you for the pictures--I have lived thru storms while my hubby was in the Air Force. You are absolutely right--- nature needs to be respected, as are the personnel who work thru the storms to protect those who may in the end need help.
Hugs and smiles, Reva

I'm glad it was no worse for you. I keep seeing terrible pictures from North Carolina and it breaks my heart. So much loss and destruction there.

Glad that's over! And you were on the road that day. Really scary stuff!
