STOP poking me!

Just used the doily die from Cheery Lynn dies and with all the detailed cuts on this die it used to be a nightmare to have to poke out all the teeny tiny pieces... without tearing the die cut piece... without giving up on using the die .... then I bought the metal shim Cheery Lynn recommends for the detailed dies.

Here is my (well loved) metal shim on the Big Shot:

The the card stock and the doily die:

Ran this through the machine and here is the die cut piece still in the die:

Removed the die cut piece from the die:

Absolutely no poking this piece after it was cut out using the metal shim. Used the Tool n' One tool to run over the die to remove the tiny pieces left behind:

I store the metal shim on a 99 cents clip board from the office supply store on the die cutting cart. This way the shim is flat and it will not be lost in the craft room maze . . . .  This shim works on every detailed die I have used and well worth buying. Beats waxed paper, extra card stock pieces, rubber mats, etc.  TFL
