Since St. Patty's Day is coming I thought I would make a Tootsie Pop holder with a leprechaun. I had seen many leprechauns but this is the one I decided to make. It is bits and pieces of different ones I saw. My supply list:
2 " scallop circle punch (rust hair)
1 1/2" circle punch (face)
1 3/8" circle punch (green hat)
5 Petal Flower punch (SU) for mustache (rust)
Small circle punch (black/eyes and flesh/nose)
Small flower punch (EK Success) (gold)
Smaller circle punch (holes for ribbon)
White Signo pen
Kraft card stock
Black card stock
Rust card stock
Green card stock
Flesh tone card stock
Shimmer gold card stock
Red sticky tape
From rust card stock punch a scallop circle. Then using the 5 petal flower punch punch off 2 petals for the mustache. For the face use the 1 1/2" circle punch and punch this from flesh coloured card stock. Also use the small circle punch and punch one circle from this card stock also for his nose. Use this small circle punch and punch out two eyes from the black card stock.
Also from the black card stock cut a small strip for his hat. From the green card stock use the 1 3/8" circle punch and punch out a circle. Then use scissors and cut this green circle in half for the hat. Using red sticky tape put the black strip across the straight edge of the hat 1/2 circle. Trim the black piece with scissors to the shape of the green hat. Cut a piece of green card stock with scissors that measures approx 3/8" x 2". This is the brim of the hat and use red sticky tape to put this on the bottom of the black strip on the hat.
Using the EK Success small flower punch punch out a piece from shimmery gold card stock and put this on the hat with a glue dot. For the face/hair put the flesh circle on the scallop rust piece with adhesive. Put the mustache piece on with two glue dots. Put the black circles on with glue dots for the eyes and then the flesh circle for the nose. Using the white Signo pen put a line on each eye and also the nose.
Using glue dots add the hat above the eyes where you think it will look right. Here is a photo of the pieces already punched out:
For the holder cut a piece of Kraft card stock 2 1/4" wide x 8" long. Score this at 3 1/2" and 4 1/2". Using a pencil make two pencil marks near the straight edge of the holder. See photo:
Put both straight ends together and using a smaller circle punch make two holes for your ribbon to go through. Put the Leprechaun on the front of the holder. Fold the holder on the scored lines with a bone folder. Put your Tootsie Pop in the holder with a large glue dot and tie the ribbon into a knot. Trim the ribbon ends.
Again here is the St Patty Pop:
St Patty's Day is not a big holiday unless you are Irish but the kiddies may like these. TFL
