Today was an eventful day for DH as he has waited three weeks for today to arrive. He is a fan of the television reality show "Storage Wars" long before the lawsuits were filed against the show "planting" items in storage lockers. DH had read in the Sunday paper that 13 lockers would be auctioned off today in a town nearby --- asking me if I wanted to go --- and thinking he knew I would decline, off he goes, with his daughter in tow, to attend his first storage locker auction. They were gone and I was enjoying quiet in the craft room. . . ahh. . .
About an hour or so after they left my cell rings and it is his daughter telling me to come out to the driveway. . so upstairs I go and I get out to the driveway --- in the back of his truck DH has oak trims for flooring, and other brand new pieces of wood that he can use in our house. Seems DH bid on other storage units but he said none of them were items he felt would be good for him --- when he saw the wood in this locker he was able to look into the locker and on the floor of the locker were boxes of tiles, boxes of engineered flooring, floor adhesive tubs, carpet adhesive and such. He won this locker for a whopping $88 and after he went through the whole locker other storage bidders bought $65.00 worth of things from him --- he came home with Porter Cable tools, a tile cutter on a stand, a portable tile cutter, nail gun, hammer drill, Ryobi tools, and the like. A couple of pieces of furniture and other items -- so he was very happy. A good result for him for his first locker --- but I did tell him not to expect such a good outcome if he should go to other storage lockers -- turned out that this was to be an auction for 13 lockers but it was 20 in total when the auction began. So he had a good day for sure and a good outcome for his first storage locker auction. . .
Next thing you know he will probably expect us to eat bugs like on Survivor -- ick . . . TFL
