Two by two, by two, by two . .
Have two Tootsie Pop holders that are made with the same two tags but have different looks and ways to close. I made one holder for Boo Day (Halloween) and one for Autumn or Thanksgiving. Will explain how they are made and give credit to the blogs these are from. Here are the Tootsie Pop Holders:
I will start with the black holder for Boo Day (Halloween). This idea is from Anita Haines at email@example.com. This black holder was made using black card stock from Stampin Up and I used the Sizzix/SU Two Tags die. Cut out two of the scalloped tags**
and scored one tag at 2 1/4" from the straight end of the tag. Score the other tag from the straight end at 1" and 2 3/8" . Use a bone folder to crease your scored lines and on the first tag (with the one scored line) punch a hole in the center of the scored line using a small circle punch as this will fit over the Tootsie Pop stick.
After your scored lines are creased use red sticky tape to put the holder together --- see photo from the side:
Once you have the sticky tape holding your holder together decorate the front scalloped flap. I used the stamp set from Stampin Up Batty for You and I stamped that onto scrap white/GP using SU black ink. Used circle and scalloped circle punches to cut that out and to decorate the front and used glue dots to put these on the holder front --- see photo:
As I always do with the Tootsie Pop holders I used a glue dot at the top of the lollipop wrapper to hold it in place in my holder. Once it is in place I closed the holder and tied black and white ribbon around the lollipop stick. The only thing I would add to this is a glue dot to keep the front closed but this is an easy holder to make.
The other holder is from cindyleebeedesigns.com and here is that holder:
Again I used card stock from SU for this holder --- Pumpkin Pie. And yet again I cut out two of the scalloped tags from the Sizzix/SU Two Tags die for the holder.
Once the tags are cut out you use Red Sticky tape to put them together matching the scallops:
Once these tags are taped together you need to turn them over and put the straight end of the tag on the side of the score board and score this at: 5/8", 2 1/4", 4 1/2" and again at 4 3/4". Use bone folder to crease your scored lines. Use a pencil to mark the middle of the tag piece between the 4 1/2" and 4 3/4" scored lines and use a small circle punch to make the hole for the lollipop stick.
Fold this holder into your shape. Put a glue dot at the top of the lollipop and turn it upside down and put it in the holder. Wrap the holder around the lollipop. Tie a ribbon at the top of the holder around the lollipop. This holder closes in the back so decorate the front of the holder. I used plaid paper from a pad of card stock from Authenique and scalloped and circle punches.
Using the oval punch from Hobby Lobby I punched out three ovals for my pumpkin --- used the SU Word Window punch for the stem and the SU Trio flower punch for the leaf piece. Put the pumpkin pieces together with glue dots. Put the pumpkin on the holder front using pop dots. Here is a photo of the side of these holders:
Again I would put a glue dot on the back of this holder to keep it closed but another quick holder to make for the Tootsie Pops.
As for the ** when you cut out your scalloped tags from this die you will see it makes stitching lines on the edges of the die cut piece. Be sure you have the better side on the outside of your holder --- you can easily see on the tag you cut the right and the wrong side of the tag. Make sure the right side of the tag will be on the outside of your holders.
Thanks to Anita and Cindy for sharing their holders and directions. TFL and YOLO
