Ghirardelli Peppermint Bark Holder

Had made a gift card holder for Christmas this week and it went together quickly and was simple and cute so decided I liked the look of it but wanted to use this idea for a Ghirardelli holder and so I did --- here is a photo of the gift card holder:

Love the red and the Santa belt and buckle belly band. Here is my holder for a Ghirardelli Peppermint Bark candy holder that holds one piece of Ghirardelli:

To make this holder I used the WRM Envelope Punch Board and this is what I did:  Cut a piece of red card stock 5" x 5". Put this card stock on the punch board and lined up the left corner up at 2" -- then punch and then score it. Slide (do not turn) the card stock from the 2" mark to the 2 3/8" mark and punch and score.

Now turn your card stock one turn and use the notched "tail" on your punch board to line up on one of the previous scored lines. Punch and score. Then slide the card stock to the second scored line, lining up the notched "tail" again and punch and score. Continue to turn and punch and score your card stock piece until all four sides are done.

Use a bone folder to crease your scored lines --- your piece will look like this**:

Hard to see the scored lines in the photo but use scissors and snip off the four corners -- ** at this time you can also put the pointed corners in the corner rounder side of the punch on your score board to round them off --- here is a photo of the rounded corners and the corners snipped off:

Using two small pieces of red sticky tape to put your holder together into the shape of an envelope box. Now for the belly band. I used a piece of 3/4" x 8" black card stock. I wrapped it around the treat holder and used my fingers to crease the sides of the black card stock around the box -- then use the bone folder to crease those lines. Used red sticky tape to closed the black belly band to itself so it will be able to slide off and on my treat box.

Used sliver glittered card stock and a label punch for the belt buckle and round button in the center. Used a piece of black card stock 3/4" x 3/4" for the center of the glittered buckle. Here is a better photo of the candy inside this holder and the belly band belt off of the holder:

Always remember to have your belly band be loose enough for the recipient to slide it off and on your holder. Quick project and cute presentation for the holiday flavor Ghirardelli candies.Quick envelope styled box for the candy.  TFL and YOLO
