WAIT --- my foot is stuck . . .
This is a photo of a heavy duty shelf DH picked up for me at one of the auto places for his car parts he buys. Long story -- but it was left in the building with the car parts DH was buying and the owner of the building wanted this shelf unit gone and that day . . . having completed the extensive DH training to a stamper-holic (me) he knew I would find some use for the shelf unit. Was happy to have it and added it to the craft room or the WAREHOUSE as DH refers to it. . .
Well .... recently went thru my Stampin Up stamp set stash and decided to pare that collection way down. Since I did that I was able to change where I was storing my SU wooden stamp sets as well as the SU cling mount stamp sets. Off to Bed, Bath, and Beyond I went with gift cards and coupons to buy the plastic trays/bins I store my SU cling mount stamp sets in. I had these sets in a closed cabinet and I think we know all that happened in there was they were dust free..... certainly not worn out from over use.... So I rearranged my metal shelf unit and put my new plastic trays/bins on a shelf. Loaded them up with my SU cling mount stamp sets, in alphabetical order, and all was well.... until it wasn't . . .
Decided to use a SU stamp set that I had in one of the trays/bins and the "foot" on the bottom of the tray/bin got stuck in the metal shelf unit!! AHHHHHH ----- called upstairs to DH and off we went to the big box home improvement store for a sheet of thin plywood DH suggested would do the trick. Had the store cut the wood into the sizes I would need and when we got home I carefully removed the plastic tray/bin from the shelf unit with no damage. DH lightly sanded the edges of the plywood for me and now I am back in business. . .
Here is a photo to show the slats on the shelf unit:
Now what the shelf looks like with my SU stamp sets on it on the plywood:
And the shelf these are on with my stamp sets from Rubber Stamp Tapestry and also my Gina K Designs stamp sets:
It has taken awhile to get my trays/bins as I wait for a coupon from Bed, Bath and Beyond and a gift card to use with it. My Rubber Stamp Tapestry stamp sets I store in the half size Stampin Up plastic stamp cases. When you buy the Rubber Stamp Tapestry stamp sets they are sold in small plastic bags and it is hard to get the stamps out of the bag and hard to get the stamps back into the bags for storage. The plastic cases not only protect the stamps but they are easier to store.
With the plywood on the shelves it is easy to pull out one of the plastic tray/bins to lift it off the shelf to take it to the work table for stamping. Thanks to DH for prepping my plywood shelves for use. TFL and YOLO
