Fun Size Jar of Haunts Holder
Had seen this project on Pinterest but could not find a link to her post. Her blog is: www.lynnslocker.blogspot.com and this project she posted in mid November, 2016. It is another treat holder using the Stampin Up Jar of Haunts stamp set and the Stampin Up Everyday Jars die set. She also used the Spooky Fun stamp set and the Halloween Scenes matching die set. For my project I used a mini ghost die from Art-O, a BOO stamp from a Close To My Heart October stamp set, and a leaves die from the stash. This is a free standing treat holder for Halloween:
Lynn has the pattern for the box that fits behind the jar front. It is an economical treat holder too as you can cut out two box pieces and four jar pieces from one sheet of 8 1/2" x 11" card stock. This box can hold candy snacks but in my holders I put two Fun Size candy bars:
Here is the holder with the empty box to show the size:
For my holder I followed Lynn's pattern but decorated my treat holders a little differently. For each of my jar fronts I used Stampin Up background stamps that I inked with Pumpkin Pie ink and I laid the die cut jar pieces onto the background stamps, rubbing with my fingers to transfer the inked pattern to my die cut jars. This photo show two of the holders showing the background pattern on them:
The jar on the left I stamped with the Petite Print background stamp and the right jar I used the Weathered background stamp on. Here are the other two holders:
The jar front on the left has the Linen background stamp pattern and the jar on the right has the Petite Print background stamp. Used the pumpkin face stamp from the Stampin Up Jar of Haunts stamp set onto the jar fronts using black ink. Went over that using clear Wink of Stella for a little sparkle.
With the jar fronts all stamped I used the fence die from the Halloween Scenes die set and cut out two fence pieces using black card stock. Used scissors to cut those to the size I needed for the fence pieces. Die cut the mini ghost die from scrap white/GP card stock. Stamped their faces on them using the black ink. Also die cut the stamped small pumpkins from Spooky Fun and I used scissors to cut off the largest pumpkin off the other two pumpkins piece. Used a glue pen to put the fence pieces onto the bottom of the jar pieces. Used micro mini glue dots to add the ghosts. Did not want to use a pop dot for the cut pumpkin so I stacked two glue dots behind the pumpkin and put that in front of the fence piece.
For the "BOO" I used scrap white/GP and I stamped it with black ink. This is from the month of October stamp set from Close To My Heart. Punched that out using the Stampin Up Classic Label punch. Set that aside. Using a leaves die from my stash I cut out four pieces from scrap green card stock for the leaves. Snipped these leaf die cut pieces to having just two leaves and sponged the edges using the Stampin Up Old Olive ink. Using scrap gray card stock I stamped four jar lids using the lid stamp from the Stampin Up Jars of Love stamp set. Die cut those out and put them on the top of the jar fronts using the ATG. Added orange and black twine tied in a bow. Used glue dots and put the leaves on the jar top. Tucked "BOO" under the leaf with a mini glue dot. Used an EK Succes multi bat punch for the bats and put one bat on one leaf on all the jars using micro mini glue dots.
This is a cute treat holder and thanks to Lynn for sharing her idea/pattern. Here is a photo to show the size of this treat holder in comparison to the other Jar of Haunts treat holder I recently made that holds two Hershey Nugget Candies:

Mummy Halloween Card
Recently bought the Stampin Up Jar of Haunts stamp set off Ebay and wanted to make a few Halloween projects with it. This card went together faster than I thought it would - once I figured out all the stamps I wanted to use. With that decided it all fell into place -- here is my Mummy card:
To start with -- had seen many of the mummy jars stamped, sponged, or just left plain for the cloth wrapping the mummy. I wanted the cloth on my mummy to have some texture/pattern like cheesecloth would have. Decided to start with stamping the mummy stamp onto white/GP using Memento black ink. I stamped three of the mummies for the photo to show how I added detail. With the three mummies stamped I used the Everyday Jars die set to cut out the mummies.
I did not want my mummy cloth to be too dark but I needed to make a mask for the face of the mummy. I stamped the mummy stamp again onto a Post It note and fussy cut the face piece using scissors. In my photos you will see my Post It note is a bright pink. With the face mask cut out I pressed that onto the die cut mummy. For the texture on the cloth I used the Stampin Up background Linen stamp and covered that with their Crumb Cake ink. I put the die cut mummy face down onto the Linen stamp and pressed it onto the inked stamp to get the inked pattern onto the mummy piece. Did this once and lifted it up and turned it slightly and put it down on another part of that inked Linen stamp. By doing this twice it gave me the pattern I wanted and it was not too dark. Here are my mummy pieces to show the finished mummy:
With the Linen pattern on the mummy cloth I peeled off the face mask and used a sponge and sponged my edges of the mummy using the Crumb Cake ink. IRL you can see the white face shows up against the inked mummy cloth but the photo does not show this well. I added clear Wink of Stella to the eyes of the mummy for some sparkle:
Set the mummy piece aside to dry. Using the pumpkin and pumpkin face stamp from that same stamp set I stamped the pumpkin and face onto Stampin Up Pumpkin Pie ink. Cut the pumpkin out with scissors and sponged the edges. Set that aside. For the greeting Trick or Treat I used a stamp from the Stampin Up stamp set Spooky Cat and stamped that with black ink onto a scrap piece of brown card stock. Punched that out using the Stampin Up Washi Label punch. Sponged the edges with the Crumb Cake ink. Put black craft foam for the back of the greeting label:
For this card I cut and scored a piece of #110 weight black card stock from Mikes for the card stock base. Cut a piece of purple card stock for the card front and put a piece of black dotted card stock onto that. Put these pieces onto the card stock base using the ATG.
For the white card front - wanted to add green to the card front but only wanted a hint of green. Cut a piece of white/GP card stock to the size I wanted to for the card front. I used the Stampin Up River Rock ink and inked up the Stampin Up Weathered background stamp that looks like a crackle pattern. Laid my white card front piece onto the background stamp and pressed that onto the stamp to transfer that inked pattern onto the white piece. Sponged the edges of that with the River Rock ink and set it aside. This photo shows this background pattern:
With my greeting label, mummy, and pumpkin pieces all ready for the card front I laid them out in the layout I wanted. Stamped the pumpkin stamp onto a Post It note and cut that out for a mask for the pumpkin piece. Laid this onto the card front and stamped the leaf/stem stamp where I would need that to be. Removed the mask and used a blender pen to add colour to the stem and leaf piece. With all stamping finished I put the white card front onto the card stock base using the ATG.
Cut a piece of spider web washi tape for the card front. Put that near the bottom of the card. Used the ATG and added the die cut mummy piece. For the pumpkin I wanted it to sit higher on the card front for dimension but did not want to use pop dots as it would be too high. Used glue dots to put the pumpkin piece onto the card front and I doubled up on the glue dots -- stacked one on top of the other and this gave my pumpkin a little height over the thickness of the mummy piece. Used double sided tape to the put the greeting piece on the card front. Stamped the spider from this stamp set onto the card front randomly. Added small sequins using clear glue and a toothpick. Added clear Wink of Stella to the pumpkin face for a little sparkle. TFL
Candy Corn Jar Halloween Card
Decided to make a Z Fold card for this Halloween card using the Stampin Up Jar of Haunts stamp set and their Everyday Jars framelit dies:
Card stock base is Stampin Up Only Orange -- all prints are from my stash. Wanted to fill up the jar with the candy corn so I cut a piece of white/GP larger than what I would need. Laid the jar die cut side down on the white/GP and used a pencil to mark the inside jar shape of the die. Used Post It notes to mask off this penciled shape and stamped the candy corn stamp onto the white/GP piece turning the stamp as I stamped. With that all stamped I put the die on this piece and ran it through the Big Shot. Once it was cut out I used a yellow and orange marker for the candies. Once that dried I covered the candy using clear Wink of Stella to add some sparkle/shine to the candies:
Set this aside to dry. Stamped a gray lid and die cut that out for the jar top. Added clear Wink of Stella to that. Cut my card stock base following a Z Fold pattern -- easy to find on the internet. Cut all my printed card stock pieces to sizes I needed for the card. For the inside of the card I used a stamp from Stampabilities (Hobby Lobby) and stamped that in Memento black ink:
Adding teeny bats from an EK Success bats border punch using a glue pen. The black dotted card stock is from the stash. The pumpkin is the pumpkin stamp from the Jar of Haunts stamp set. I stamped that onto Stampin Up Pumpkin Pie card stock using that same ink. Fussy cut that out and sponged the edges with that same ink. Stamped the pumpkin face onto the pumpkin using the Memento black ink. Cut out a stem free hand and sponged the edges of that using Stampin Up Crumb Cake ink. Put the stem onto the pumpkin top using micro mini glue dots. Put the pumpkin on the card using glue dots.
Cut out solid black card stock to fit behind my printed black spider card stock piece. Put these together using the ATG. Added adhesive to the left backside only and put this onto the card front. Used the ATG to add the gray lid to the jar. Using clear TomBow glue I added the twine and bow pieces below the gray jar lid. Put the jar onto the black pieces using pop dots for dimension. The greeting "Trick or Treat" was stamped onto scrap white card stock and that stamp is from the October stamp set from the Close To My Heart Stampaganza series. Punched it out using the Stampin Up Classic Label punch and put that onto the card front using glue dots. TFL

Jar of Haunts Nuggets Treat Holder
Saw this project done by BJ Peters on Youtube and wanted to make them right away... until.... Here is the link to her video:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=JLil8vvY9ic
Have two of the stamp sets and die set she uses for her nugget treat holder but did not have the Stampin Up Jar of Haunts stamp set.. It is no longer available but put on watch for it on Ebay and finally found a set at a price I was willing to pay for it.... The set arrived this morning and I went right to work to make these cutie - patootie treat holders:
I needed the stamp for the pumpkin face but have four other projects already lined up to use this new to me stamp set Jar of Haunts as well. This little holder holds two Hershey nugget candies and they went together quickly. In her video she cuts all her jar pieces and then inked the Stampin Up Hardwood background stamp to stamp the jars. I decided to cut a piece of the Pumpkin Pie card stock larger than what I would need and stamped it using the Hardwood background stamp. With that stamped I then cut out my jar pieces:
My stamped piece had enough room to cut out four jar pieces -- each holder needs two jar pieces and two lid pieces. With my four jar pieces cut out, enough for two treat holders, I then stamped the pumpkin face onto two stamped jar pieces for his face using black Memento ink. I did not have the gray she used in the video so I used Smokey Slate for my jar lid. Stamped and cut that out.
Using her directions for the box between the jar pieces to hold the two chocolate nugget candies I cut out and scored this piece. Folded it on the crease lines, clipped the ends, and put the little box together using tear and tape. Put the pumpkin face jar on the box front and a jar piece on the back of the box also using tear and tape. Added the jar lid using the ATG. Set this aside. Here is a photo of the size of this holder so you can see the little box that holds the two nugget candies:
Took two nugget candies and wrapped a printed piece of card stock around them and secured it using glue dots. My nugget wrappers are 1" wide by 3 1/8" long. Ran them over the bone folder to make it easier to wrap around the candies. Put the two nugget candies in the box. Used tear and tape behind the lid piece and pinched to the front and back pieces of the holder together to keep it closed. Added black and white twine to one holder and orange and black twine to the other holder. Tied the twine into a knot and then a bow. Trimmed the twine to the length I wanted for the pumpkin. Used a clear Wink of Stella pen over the pumpkin face and the jar lid to add some sparkle and shine:
These are SOOOOO cute!! Free standing so will be nice to hand out at work or maybe at a table place setting or something. Here is a photo to show the size of this little guy compared to the recent Ghirardelli boxes I made:
A BIG thanks to BJ for sharing her cuter than cute pumpkin nugget holders!! LOVE them!
Bunches of BOO's . . .
This post will have a few of the Halloween projects I have recently worked on... Just got my new Stampin Up order with Halloween stamp sets and I was able to find time to make a few things.
First card --
Used the SU stamp set Seasonal Chums and made this card using tips and tricks from Tami White on her Youtube channel - here is the link to her video:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=aY43Q7wX9mU
As Tami suggested I cut the stamps apart since they are made to be a two sided tag. Tami cut her stamp apart and cut more off the rubber piece but I simply cut my stamp in half and then used them as individual stamps. Put them together on the block and stamped them onto Pumpkin Pie card stock. Cut them out with the coordinating die and here is that double sided tag:
Once the watercoloring was dry I added clear Wink of Stella to the green stems and leaves. Thanks to Tami for a cute card!
Using stamps from the Spooky Cat stamp set I made this tag and cut out the white tag using the new Everyday Label punch:
Again added clear Wink of Stella to the liquid in the potion bottles. Cute tag for a treat holder for the holiday!
This next card is nothing like a card I would make but once I saw it??? HAD to make it! Liked it so much I ended up making a second card as well -- I searched to see whose original card this was but could not find that information but will continue looking and will post it here. Here is my version of her card:
Like the card maker did I used the Stampin Up Timeless Textures stamp set for my card front. Did not know what colours she used for inks so I used inks that are close to what she had used. My greeting "Happy Halloween" is a stamp from a Paper Sweeties stamp set. For my pumpkins I used and oval punch and punched three ovals out, sponged ink on the edges, and put the pumpkin together using glue dots. Added a brown stem to the top of the pumpkin. Put the pumpkin on the card front using glue dots.
For the cat I wanted it to be a rich black colour so I used flocked black card stock. Flocked card stock can be flimsy so I cut a piece of black flocked card stock a bit bigger than I would need for my two cats and I also cut a piece of regular black card the same size. Ran the ATG over the plain black card stock and put the flocked card stock on top of that. Wanted my cats to face the opposite way of the punch so I turned the punch backwards and punched out my cats with the black flocked card stock facing me. Here is the punch and the punched black card stock:
Put the black cat onto the card front using pop dots for dimension. Here is a photo of the two cards I made:
The sequins on the purple card are from the dollar store. Here is a closer look at the stamped piece:
I had cut the white card front before I stamped it so it was the right size for the card front once it was all stamped. Here is a better photo of the cat and pumpkin:
Really like this card and the layout. Stamps are totally not Halloween themed but they show off the pumpkin and cat perfectly. Thanks to whoever shared her card! TFL

Seasons change... plan ahead!
Wanted to make some Autumn cards using a leaf die set I bought at a recent stamp show from the Tessler Stamps booth --the die set has different sizes of leaves so one pass through the machine gave me different leaf sizes. I wanted to have leaves in the fall colours and changing shades so to do this I used a full sheet of white/GP card stock. Covered it with distress inks in fall colours. This sheet looked all splotchy when I finished but not to worry - cut this full sheet in half and put some of the leaf dies on it to run through the machine:
Cut leaves out and kept moving the die pieces all over the two pieces of distressed card stock until the distressed ink pieces were all cut up and I had a pile of leaves. Spread them apart for the photo:
Some of the die cut leaves were attached to each other so I used scissors to snip them apart. Used my $1.00 cookie rack from the thrift store and spread the leaves out on that. Using Pearls Shimmer Mist I spritzed the leaves to give them some sparkle and shine:
While these were set aside to dry I also used the leaves dies and cut out solid rust card stock so I would have some solid leaves as well. Spritzed these leaves as well. Using these distressed ink and die cut leaves I made three Autumn cards. Here is the first card:
For the scalloped frame squares I used this die:
This card is on a card stock base of rust scored on the left side. Used Mikes kraft card stock for the card front. The stamped cream card stock is Close To My Heart and I used the Autumn Words background stamp from Stampendous to stamp my cream card stock using SU Crumb Cake ink. Trimmed that background piece to size and using the ATG I put this onto the kraft card stock and then put them onto the card stock base.
For the front squares piece I die cut the scalloped squares pieces from cream card stock. Laid those out on the table and used a ruler to measure them so I could cut a piece of rust card stock a bit larger to fit behind them. I used temporary adhesive to put the die cut squares onto the rust square. Once they were where I wanted them I used the ATG and added adhesive to each square to keep it in place. Using glue dots to put one leaf on each square piece. Cut a piece of white craft foam to put behind this rust square to put in the center of the card front. Used double sided tape to put this onto the card stock base.
For "Autumn Blessings" I used SU rust ink and stamped it onto scrap cream Close To My Heart card stock. This stamp is from a stamp set from Our Daily Bread Designs stamp set. Used a one inch circle punch and punched that out. Using a 1 1/8" circle punch I punched out a rust circle and put the two circles together using the ATG. Put this greeting circle on the leaf piece using glue dots. Added crystals from the stash. This photo shows the shimmer of the leaves:
This next card I used SU Crumb Cake card stock scored at the top with a print from the stash for the card front:
Once again I used the Autumn Words background stamp to stamp onto the Close To My Heart cream card stock front. Trimmed that to size and put this on the print and them onto the card stock base using the ATG. For the greeting piece I stamped an autumn stamp from Inkadinkado onto scrap cream card stock from Close To My Heart. Using SU Pumpkin Pie card stock I cut out a square frame die and put that over the greeting piece. Used the trimmer to trim these pieces to size.
Put the stamped greeting piece onto the card front using white craft foam and double sided tape. Added two of the distress inked leaves to opposite corners of the framed piece using glue dots. Made a bow using gold twine and put that on the upper left corner of the frame using clear TomBow glue. Added three sequins from the dollar store using micro mini glue dots.
This third card is totally different and for this one I used brown card stock as the card base and it is scored at the top:
Cream card stock front is Close To My Heart. Trimmed that piece to the size I would need for the card front. Used the SU stamp set Gorgeous Grunge and inked the one background stamp with rust ink - stamped it off onto scrap card stock and then stamped the cream card stock three times. Using three fall themed or coloured washi tapes I put the tapes across the front of my card. Tore the ends rather than use scissors to cut the tapes. Using an autumn stamp from Our Daily Bread Designs stamp set I stamped that on the lower right corner using brown ink. Put the card front onto the card stock base using the ATG.
I used two of the solid rust leaves I had die cut and put them onto the card front using glue dots. Also added three of the dollar store sequins using micro mini glue dots. This photo shows the shimmer and shine on the leaves:
Glad I die cut and spritzed all my leaves first so I can just keep working on the autumn cards for Fall. TFL

Fall Leaves Card
Card stock base is SU Old Olive scored at the top. Used white/GP for the white piece on the card front and the checked card stock is from the stash by BoBunny.
The leaves piece was made using the new release Blowing Leaves Square from Franticstamper.com. I used distressed inks on white/GP in fall colours and cut the leaves pieces in the Big Shot:
Once cut I cut a piece of Bazzill vellum to put behind the leaves piece. Used clear TomBow glue to put them together. Set that aside to dry:
Used the ATG and put the checked card stock onto the white card stock and then put these onto the green card stock base. Set that aside. Using bronze foil card stock backed with Stick It paper from Ken Oliver I cut out "FALL" using a set of alphabet dies that are small. Cut a scrap piece of white/GP for the banner and used the SU banner punch on the one end. Put the letters onto the banner piece. Set that aside:
With the leaves piece dried (did not take long) I cut a piece of white/GP card stock a bit bigger than the die cut leaves piece. Used the clear TomBow glue and put the leaves piece onto the white card stock piece. Added a piece of white craft foam behind the leaves piece using double sided tape for dimension. Positioned the leaves and FALL pieces on the card front and adhered them to the card front using double sided tape. Die cut a small bow from the bronze foil card stock and put this on a scrap distress ink die cut leaf from another fall card I had made. Added a brown crystal from the stash to the center of the bow. Put the leaf in the lower right corner of the framed leaves piece using micro mini glue dots:
Easy card to put together and each distressed ink project turns out differently. Soon enough we will be in the Fall season and cooler temps. TFL

Ray of BOOs Card
Card stock base is purple card stock cut and scored on left side. Used the Ray of Sunshine cutting plate from Taylored Expressions for the starburst pattern. Cut that out of black card stock. Used a pack of printed card stock from Hobby Lobby for all the Halloween prints.
With the card stock base cut and scored I used a glue pen to put the black starburst frame onto the card front similar this photo of another card I had made:
Used the glue pen I put the Halloween print pieces into the frame. Once that was done I set this aside. Using a small star punch I punched out stars from various glittered card stocks for the card front. Set those aside.
Using an older steel ruled Sizzix ghost die I cut out my ghost from white glittered card stock. Used a "BOO" metal die to cut out the black glittered "BOO" piece. Not many adhesives work on glittered card stocks but this glue I found at Hobby Lobby and it works well:
Used a toothpick to put this glue on the backside of the die cut "BOO" and put this onto the front of the ghost. Cut a small oval from black card stock for the ghost eyes and I put that on the backside of the ghost using a glue pen. Put the ghost onto the card front using pop dots:
Put the small stars on the card front using micro mini glue dots. Very easy card to put together and the paper pack uses all the popular Halloween colours. TFL
A Haunting Sky Card
To begin with this card was easy to put together but some planning had to be in place for where to start - I used a couple of older Stampin Up stamp sets for this Halloween card:
The tree/owl stamp is from the SU stamp set House of Haunts with the holiday greeting from the SU Web Wishes stamp set. Now to black ink... it isn't always the ink that does not work out or the stamp you are using. Many times it is the card stock. This photo shows two stamped images using ColorBox black ink but the stamped images are different in shade:
The stamped image on the left is stamped on white/GP card stock. The stamped image on the right is stamped onto Whisper White card stock from Stampin Up. With my image and card stock chosen I began making my card. #110 weight black card stock base is from Mikes and prints are from the stash. Cut and scored the black card stock base with the scored line at the top. Cut my two prints to the size I wanted for the card front. Set these all aside.
For the stamped image -- to begin with I decided I wanted to use a rectangle frame die for the black frame around the stamped image. Cut out a black frame using a rectangle frame die that would fit over the stamped tree/owl with the moon piece. I cut a piece of Whisper White card stock larger than the black frame and I used a piece of white/GP for my masking piece:
This masking piece is wider and longer than the white piece I was using for the stamped card front piece. First I punched out a circle for the mask for the moon on my stamped image. Using temporary adhesive I put the circle piece onto the Whisper White for the card front. Using the Stampin Up Detailed Floral die set once again I sponged clouds on my piece. Here is the template/stencil I had made before to make clouds on cards:
For this card I sponged SU Going Gray over the template/stencil piece moving it around and turning it over as I sponged so as not to have a striped cloud pattern across my card front. With the clouds all sponged on the piece I removed the circle for the moon. Put the masking piece over my sponged cloud piece and covered that with SU Daffodil Delight ink with a sponge, leaving a little white showing. With the mask still in place I went over that using SU Pumpkin Pie ink and a sponge. Removed the masking piece. Here is a photo to show the clouds:
I laid the black die cut frame piece over the clouds/moon piece being sure the full moon would be inside the frame piece. Using the black ColorBox ink I stamped my tree/owl stamp onto the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig clear sheet so I would be sure my image was inside the area my black frame die cut piece would be. Once I had the placement correct I removed the stamped clear sheet and the black frame die cut piece and stamped my tree/owl image onto the card front. With that stamped I put the black frame die cut piece over my stamped image and used a pencil to make light pencil lines so I would know where to trim off the stamped image piece to fit behind the frame piece. With that trimmed I used the ATG and put the black frame onto my stamped image. Cut a black craft foam sheet to fit behind this piece for the card front. Put the stamped image onto the black craft foam piece using double sided tape. Cut a piece of light gray #110 weight card stock from Mikes to put the framed piece on.
With the card base cut and scored I used the ATG to put the dotted card stock and the candy corn printed card stock onto the black card stock base. Using the ATG I put the stamped image piece onto the black card stock base. For the greeting "Happy Halloween!" I used a stamp from the SU stamp set Web Wishes from 2004. That stamp reads:
Happy Halloween!
From our web to yours
I inked the "Happy Halloween!" part of the stamp using the black ColorBox ink and stamped that onto scrap Whisper White card stock. Used a ruler to mark my trimming lines and once trimmed I used the SU banner punch to punch the ends. Put a piece of SU Pumpkin Pie card stock behind my greeting banner. Used black crystals from the stash to add to the banner piece. Did not want the banner piece to be on pop dots but wanted some dimension with it so I layered three pieces of tear and tape on top of each other to 'clear' the level the black die cut frame gives the card front:
This is a simple card to put together but with me using the rectangle die for my black frame I had to be sure once that was cut out that the stamping and moon pieces would fit inside the frame. Once again a big thanks to Shelly Godby from Stampingsmiles.com who showed how easy it is to give the sky on your card dimension using the SU Detail Floral dies and sponging ink over it! Her tip is a keeper for sure. TFL
