Elf Season #3

Had seen the triangle tree boxes on Splitcoast so I made some. More of the pillow boxes were made using the Sizzix Pillow Box die and I also used red foil paper for some of those. The "belly bands" on these boxes are scraps as are the papers for the boxes---everything came from the scrap file box. Made tags for the York Peppermint Patties from scraps also--used a circle and a scallop punch for those. The angel ornament is a fabric yo yo for her face and a square piece of fabric for her body and the rest is a glue gun for application. This is the end of things I am
making for Christmas--rest will be baked items that I will do next week. Ho ho to you and yours.

It's Elf Season . . .

Am busy getting ready for Christmas---made red and green cloth napkins that fold like a Christmas tree. They are two sided so you can fold the tree either way. Also made the candy cane snowman covers. Used SU paper and a stamp from them and used white Stickles for the snow at the base of the snowmen. The bottom little tree is small and made from cloth and mesh fabric yo yos. It has a red bead and a mini red bell at the bottom of the tree. Still creating but almost done... :0) Ho ho!

Delightful Decorations Punch Angel

Saw this card on Splitcoast by Stephanie Luman and HAD to make an angel... The punches used are: 3/4" circle, 1" circle, 1 1/4" circle, 1 3/8" circle, 2 1/2" circle, a large Butterfly punch. and the ornament punch from Stampin' Up for Delightful Decorations. To start with I do not have a large butterfly punch so I used my Martha Stewart heart punch and punched out two hearts from white glitter paper for the wings. I also used another punch--3" for the red circle behind the angel. Since she is singing I used paper with music bars---this holly/berry paper and the red paper are from Hobby Lobby. Used Kraft paper from Paper Trey Ink. The greeting is a stamp from Stampabilities at Hobby Lobby and I used SU Vanilla cardstock for that and the olive ink from StazOn. Pop dots are behind the angel and the greeting piece for dimension. Used pink chalk for her cheeks and a black marker for eyes and mouth.
Cut "v" shapes in her "hair" for bangs.

Three Triangle Trees Card

Card is on Kraft paper from Paper Trey Ink. Used Vanilla paper from Stampin' Up. The dots is paper from Hobby Lobby. I used the Sizzix embossing folder from the set "Dearly and Frost". Since the Sizzix folders emboss deeply this can cause the paper to rip. So when I use Sizzix folders I always emboss two pieces of paper at the same time. This will prevent the rips and you get a smoother embossed impression. I then cut apart the red, green, and white paper and pieced them together and then cut out my triangle trees. The stars are punches I already had. The greeting "be merry" is from Stampin' Up and I used StazOn Blazing Red ink for that and used the SU Modern Label punch for that. The red crystals are from Hobby Lobby. Ribbon is from my stash. I used pop dots behind the biggest tree only for dimension.

Folded Christmas Tree Card

This is a half circle folded tree -- I saw one on Splitcoast by "stampercamper" and I had to try it. I used green and red cardstock from my stash and the white paper is from Walmart. I used the Sizzix Birthday Set #3 embossing folder for the white paper but the Sizzix embosses deep enough to tear/rip the paper. So when I used their folders I always emboss two pieces of paper at a time and this avoids that problem. The greeting is from the holiday set of stamps from Hampton Art that I got from AC Moore. I used StazOn Blazing Red ink on that. The green gingham paper is from Joanns. Did not have the right color "bling" so I used a circle hole puncher and made three circles for the card. Pop dots were used behind the tree for dimension.

A Warm Hello Card

Pink cardstock from Stampin' Up. This is an old trick from Splitcoast---using a tag punch you punch out scrap paper and make a flower---I sponged the edges of my tags so it has dimension for the petals. The greeting "A Warm Hello" is from a set of greeting stamps from Hero Arts. Used black ink from Stampin' Up for the greeting. The stem to the flower is from green scraps---made the leaves to the flower by using a heart punch and cut the heart in half. The print pink papers are from my stash. Used pop dots behind the flower for dimension.

White Wreath Christmas Card

Red cardstock is from Hobby Lobby and the white is from Walmart. Used the branch punch from Martha Stewart for the branches--made them from white paper and the white glittered paper from Hobby Lobby. Used two hole punchers for the foil dots on the wreath. Used the Stampin' Up Petals A Plenty for the embossed red piece behind the wreath. Ribbon is from my stash. The greeting "Merry Christmas" is a dollar stamp from Michaels. I used StazOn Blaze Red ink for that. Used pop dots behind the wreath for dimension. ***Hard to see the glitter branches in the picture but the wreath does have sparkle.

Noel Christmas Card

This card is on white cardstock from Walmart. Solid green paper and the stripe paper are from Hobby Lobby. Greeting is from Inkadinkado and I used SU red ink on that. Used an oval Fiskars punch for the green piece behind that. Silver beads on the red bow are from Hobby Lobby. Just got this set from Joanns for 75% off this morning. It is the Sizzix Winter Set #3. I used the small embossing folder for the "Noel" and then used a circle punch to punch that out. Used the green Pearlescent paper from Joanns for that. The bow is a punch from Martha Stewart. Ribbon is from my stash. ***When I embossed the white cardstock in the larger folder from this set and since I have found that Sizzix folders emboss deeply, I always use two layers of paper when I use their folders so the paper will not tear on the embossed parts. Used pop dots behind the "Noel" circle and the greeting for dimension.

One of the faster cards to make---this is on brown cardstock from Stampin' Up and I used beige paper from Hobby Lobby. I stamped a tree stamp from the SU Lovely as a Tree stamp set with SU Close to Cocoa ink and I stamped that onto a paint sample card from Lowes. Then stamped the greeting at the bottom which is a stamp from the Grateful Greetings stamp set from SU and also used the Close to Cocoa ink for that. The ribbon is from Hobby Lobby. Used pop dots behind the tree label for dimension. **This card was published in the September release of "Just Cards-Holidays" 2011**

Thanksgiving Turkey Card

This card is on Kraft paper from Paper Trey Ink. The turkey is a used Sizzix die I got on Ebay and I used papers from the pad of Debbie Mumm paper I had gotten a couple of years ago from Joanns. The rust papers on the card are from Stampin' Up and the brown paper is from Hobby Lobby. The paper to the left with the words on it is from Hobby Lobby also. Used ribbon from my stash and I used a square hole punch to nip the folded edge of the card for the ribbon to go through. I used brads from my stash for the greeting and the greeting is stamped with Basic Brown ink from SU. This is an easy turkey to assemble but it is alot of paper piecing and cutting. Pop dots were used behind the turkey and the greeting for dimension.

Love for Christmas Card

This card is all punches. Used the Martha Stewart branch punch for the wreath and punched scrap papers for that. Used the SU Modern Label punch and the SU Word Window punch for the greeting and that stamp is from Hero Arts and I used Blaze Red ink for that from StazOn. The holly/berry punch is from Martha Stewart. Used gold beads on the label from Hobby Lobby. The birds are punched using the Two Step Bird punch from SU and the red bird is on red foil paper from Hobby Lobby. I used the (hostess) stamp set from SU Punch Potpourri for the red swirled bird and the two hearts are from punches from the stash. The ribbon is from the ribbon jar. Used pop dots behind the wreath as well as the birds. Good use of scraps!

Shimmery Santa Card

Used Kraft paper from Papter Trey Ink for the card and the red cardstock is from Stampin' Up. Used the plaid and holly/berries paper from Joanns. The Santa is a clear stamp from this year's holiday collection at Michaels. Stamped him with the Dove Gray ink from StazOn and then used a gel pen from Sakura over that. I used red crystals for the berries on his hat and colored in the holly leaves with a green marker. Did not have "bling" to match this card so I used two different sized circle punches and I used red foil paper for the red circles. I used the "Merry Christmas" stamp from Hero Arts and I used the Blaze Red ink from StazOn for that. Using the Word Window punch from SU I punched that out and then used the SU Modern Label punch for the red paper behind it. Used silver beads from Hobby Lobby. Pop dots were used behind Santa and the greeting label to add dimension.

This card is made with papers from the DCWV holiday pack. I used Labels 8 from Spellbinders to cut this out. The red and Vanilla cardstock is from Stampin' Up. I used the Sizzix Candy Cane embossing folder in the Cuttlebug for the green tree and used the EK Success punch for that. The red tree is using the squeeze punch from Fiskars. I used a star punch for the star. The greeting "Merry Christmas" is from the new holiday stamp set from Hampton Art at AC Moore and I stamped that using the Forest Green ink from StazOn. Did not have any green "bling" so used a small circle hole punch for the green dots on the greeting label. Pop dots were used behind the trees for dimension.

Delightful Decorations in Green

This card is inspired by   kwernerdesign.com  and I used the SU Delightful Decorations punch and the stamp is from the Tags til Christmas set from them. I did not have the right color of green so I stamped the stamp using ColorBox Evergreen ink and then I put clear embossing powder on that and heat set it. I used clear crystals from Hobby Lobby. The red cardstock is from SU and the green holly print and stripe and solid are from Joanns. Used a circle punch and a small circle punch for all the small scallops on the edge. The ribbon is from the ribbon jar. Used pop dots behind the ornament for dimension and also behind the circle.

Delightful Decorations Swirled

This card is inspired by Glenda Calkins and her "Inlaid Ornaments" on Splitcoast. I used red cardstock from Hobby Lobby and the printed paper is from a holiday pad of paper from DCWV at Joanns. The white paper is from Walmart. Used the Divine Swirl embossing folder from Cuttlebug for the white**. The ornament is from the Delightful Decorations stamps and punch from Stampin' Up. Used Red Riding Hood ink from SU for the ornament and the greeting. Used the Modern Label punch from SU for the red foil behind the greeting and the Word Window punch for the greeting from SU. The silver beads are from Hobby Lobby and the red ribbon is from my stash jar. Very easy and elegant---quick card. Pop dots were used behind the greeting. **Ink your ornament stamp and stamp that onto a piece of white cardstock. Punch that out and adhere that to the bigger piece of white cardstock to be put into the embossing folder. Run that through the Cuttlebug and the ornament looks like it is part of that piece. Add a bead and ribbon once it is embossed and done!

This card was made with scraps from another Christmas card I made. It is on red cardstock from SU and white cardstock from Walmart. I used Spellbinders Label 8 for the card and the front. The green ribbon and bow are from the stash jar. I used the Sizzix "Ornament, light, and stocking" die for the stocking. The stocking top is red glitter paper from Hobby Lobby. To make the patchwork I used the 3/4 inch punch from EK Success. I used SU Red Riding Hood red ink to lightly sponge the edges of the front white piece. I used the Sizzix and Cuttlebug machines. Quick and easy and it used up some more scraps.

Cut Away Card

This card is a cut away card--I made the card from Paper Trey Ink Kraft paper
and then cut away half of the front. I took a piece of brown cardstock I had from Hobby Lobby and I then rolled out the "Watercolor Vine" wheel from SU in clear Versa Mark Ink. I put clear embossing powder on that and heat set that. I set that aside while I cut the blue cardstock from SU and the blue multi print paper I got at Michaels for the other half of the front of the card.  I stamped "Thinking of you" in Basic Brown ink from SU and using a small oval punch from Fiskars I cut that out and sponged the edges also in the brown ink. I then used a square hole punch from Fiskars and punched a square on the fold of the card. I then put the brown organdy ribbon through this hole and tied it in a bow. Gold foil paper is from Hobby Lobby for the sleigh rails. The bow on the sleigh is a Martha Stewart punch. I cut all all presents from scraps.

Cuttlebug Christmas Tree (Cut apart)

This tree card is using the Christmas Tree embossing folder by Cuttlebug. When I bought this folder and made my first tree I found the top of the tree was at the fold in the folder. This would not give you any space above the tree to decorate or to evenly space on the card front. So I cut the folder apart on the seam and taped one inch pieces of cardboard (backs of paper pack pads)---one piece to one folder and one piece to the other folder. Then I taped them back together at the cardboard and now I had an extension on my Christmas Tree folder and I made this card. To make it easy for the crystals to stay on I used the folder imprint backwards so the crystals are "in" the embossed parts. "Be Merry" is a stamp from Stampin' Up.

Thanksgiving SU Wheel (cut out)

This card was made with the large Blessings wheel from Stampin' Up. I rolled it out and cut out this section of words. I used Kraft paper by Paper Trey Ink for the card. Dots are from a clear dot border stamp using Pumpkin Pie ink from Stampin' Up.
