Winter Snowman Card

This is the card I sent out for the winter cards---the snowman is from an idea someone had on Splitcoast. I took two embossing folders and cut them apart to allow for the space between the snowflakes and the swiss dots for me to stamp my saying "Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow"... I used Sky Blue ColorBox ink for that. Used a small snowflake punch from Hobby Lobby on silver foil paper for the snowflake by the ribbon. The ribbon is also Hobby Lobby. The white cardstock is Walmart and the blue is from Stampin' Up. The snowman is made with three circle punches, used a star punch for the nose and cut that off the star, eyes and buttons were made with a Martha Stewart black marker. Arms are made using a snowflake die from Sizzix. The hat is a circle punch and trimmed and the larger snowflake is also a punch from Hobby Lobby and the square crystal is from there as well. Red glitter paper is for the scarf. Used pop dots behind the snowman for dimension.

Love Valentine Card

This card is on Poppy cardstock from Paper Trey Ink. I used black cardstock from Stampin' Up. The ribbon is from Hobby Lobby. The three small hearts were made with the hearts punch by Martha Stewart. The flowers are from the flower jar. The "Love" is a set of four stamps from an old Hero Arts stamp set that I got at a stamp garage sale last summer for $5.00 brand new. It is from 2007. I used Magenta ColorBox ink for the letters and then I put red embossing powder on top of that and used the heat gun to set it. I used the small and the large tag punches from Stampin' Up for the letters. The larger tag punch I used on black paper. I then used a square punch for the white squares behind the letters and used scrap white paper for those. Used a brad for the center of the flowers on each letter. The ribbon is black and red checked and I put a thin piece of red ribbon by Ofray along the black line on the ribbon. Glued the small hearts on the corner.

Patchwork Valentine Card

Card is on Chocolate Chip cardstock from Stampin' Up. The patchwork heart is from a pad of paper from the Paper Studio at Hobby Lobby "Mirabelle". I used a square punch and punched out different papers. Using a white cardstock scrap for the base I ran the tape gun all over that piece and then put the squares of
paper on that and then punched out the heart using a Marvy heart punch. The string on the heart is from a spool of string from Martha Stewart. The scalloped heart behind the patchwork heart is of one the papers in the paper pad. Using Timber Brown ink from StazOn I sponged the edges of the scalloped heart. I used pop dots behind the scalloped heart for dimension. I used a piece of Stampin' Up Vanilla cardstock  for the center of the card.  The "Love" stamp is from Inkadinkado and I used the StazOn Timber Brown Ink for that. I also sponged the edges of the center piece.

Candy Hearts Valentine Card

This card probably took as long to photograph as it was to make -- haha.. It is foil and hard to get a good picture of it. To start with--the card is on pink cardstock from Stampin' Up. I used white cardstock from Walmart. Used the candy hearts embossing folder from the "Love's in the air" set from Cuttlebug. I used a piece of white cardstock cut to a bit larger than the embossing folder. I left the length for handling. I then cut a piece of foil larger than the white piece. Ran the white piece thru the Xyron to get the adhesive on that. I then put the white piece, adhesive side down, onto the foil piece. At this time you need to decide if you want the shinier side of the foil to show or the brushed side (back) of the foil. Once you put the cardstock on the foil gently press down to get the adhesive to work. Using the Cuttlebug I put the A plate down, the cardstock/foil piece in the folder, and put this on top of the A plate. THEN I used the two B plates--this gives it extra weight. Slowly run the folder thru the Cuttlebug so you have a uniform finish. I then trimmed up the foil embossed piece--remembering to be gentle as it is foil. Then I put this onto a white piece of cardstock and put that on the pink card. Used a greeting from SU Grateful Greetings and used SU Pink Passion ink for that. Used an EK Success label punch for the label . The candy hearts stamp on the tag is a dollar stamp from Michaels. Used the SU tag punch for that and put a silver heart brad in that. The pink and red hearts ribbon is from the stash. Used pop dots behind the greeting and the tag for dimension.  **When working with foil I have found the cheaper foils from the dollar stores work better -- they do not tear or rip as easily as the known brands. ***This card was published in the "Just Cards-Holidays" magazine available in September 2011 ***

Love Grows Valentine Card

This card is white on white using cardstock from Walmart for all three layers. The embossed piece is done using the Cuttlebug "Love's in the Air" embossing folder. Red flocked paper was used for the heart and used a Martha Stewart heart punch for that.

Owl True Love Valentine Card

This card is on red cardstock from Stampin' Up. I used white paper from Walmart and the kraft paper is from Paper Trey Ink. Used all scraps for the owls, clothes, branches, hearts, and owl wings. (I love my scrap paper system!). The word "love" in red is from a punch by Martha Stewart and the hearts are from various punches. Used a dollar stamp for the "Happy Valentines Day" greeting and I stamped that using the Blazing Red ink from StazOn. I used two circle hole punches for the circle dots by the greeting. The scalloped red piece was done with a Fiskars scallop punch. Pop dots were used behind the greeeting and both owls for dimension.  *** This card was published in the "Just Cards-Holidays" magazine which was available in September 2011 ***

Hearts & Love Valentine Card

This card is on Kraft paper from Paper Trey Ink and the red paper is from Hobby Lobby. The white cardstock is from Walmart. Used the new Sizzix** "Curlique and Hearts" embossing folder for the embossing. I also used my old frame kit from  http://www.stamponit.net/ for the oval in the center. The greeting stamp is from Michaels dollar bin. Used StazOn Blazing Red ink for that. Made two slits on the embossed piece for the ribbon. Tied that with metallic thread. The silver metal "Love" charm is from the wedding section at Michaels. Simple card. ** Sizzix embossing folders emboss deeply and can cause the paper to tear so I always use two pieces of paper when I emboss with those. You will get a smoother embossed piece.

Hearts Valentine

The card is from scraps---I bought the new Martha Stewart border punch "Heartbeat" and was working on another card. I used the punch on red foil paper and these small foil hearts were left. So I decided to work on this card using scraps--used scrap paper out of the file box for the "grass" using the Martha Stewart grass border punch. The pink flowers are scraps using various flower punches. I drew the stems and the leaves using a Stampin' Up marker. The white heart embossed piece on the left of the card is the new embossing folders from Sizzix "Curlique and Hearts Set". I always use two pieces of cardstock when I use the Sizzix folders as they emboss deeply. The two pieces of paper prevent the paper from tearing and it gives you a smoother embossed surface. The pink organdy ribbon is from Michaels. I used Fiskars punches for the greeting. The greeting is computer generated on white cardstock from Walmart and the light pink cardstock for the card is from Stampin' Up as is the scraps of the darker pink cardstock. Used pop dots behind the greeting for dimension.
