Candy Bar Treat Holder

Used the KSCrafts Candy Bar Wrapper die set that was released in July 2025 for these Halloween treat holders. These candy bar treat holders can hold the larger chocolate treats. Here is a photo of four of them that I made:

To make these treat holders I wanted to use only card stocks in the Halloween stash that had already been cut - tried to use as much of those papers as I could. This die set has the base box piece with many layering dies for the front, back, sides and bottom. Here is a photo of the die set:

For the base of my boxes I used black card stock. Once those were all die cut I pulled out the card stocks and cut out the curved layered front pieces and two layering pieces for the back - I wanted to put a piece of printed card stock on the outside back of the boxes so they look more finished:

With all the layering pieces die cut I thought it would be much easier to put the layering pieces onto the box base while it was flat before it was all assembled. So using tear and tape I attached the back of the box to the curved front of the box and then added the layering pieces using liquid glue:

and then the back piece:

With all the layering pieces on I folded the box and put that together. Set this aside. For the front of this treat holder I used dies and a punch from the stash -- a Cheery Lynn Spiderweb die set, also used an old Sizzix Ghost #2 Sizzlit die, a Divinity Designs label die set for the greeting, and behind the circles under the ghost I used a scallop circle punch from the stash:

Wanted some texture under the spiderweb so I cut small pieces of cheesecloth from the stash. Used mirror card stocks for the spiderweb and cut that to the size I would need for the box front. Used liquid glue to put the spiderweb on the cheesecloth. Die cut the ghost out of glittered white card stock scraps. Die cut another ghost out of black card stock and glued that to the back of the ghost piece to make it more sturdy as well as fill in for the eyes. For the "happy halloween" I used a stamp set from Paper Smooches:

"Face Off" is the name of this stamp set. I stamped it onto scrap solid card stock and cut that out using the label die set from Divinity Designs. I cut a piece of black card stock to put the greeting label on to frame those on the ghost since the ghost is white. I die cut the two circle dies in the candy wrapper die set for the center of the spider web and I also used a scallop punch for a circle under those. Used liquid glue to layer all the circles. Added the ghost to those and I put pop dots on both ends of the greeting label and put the greeting across the front of the ghosts on the spider web. To add a little sparkle I used crystal gems from the stash to add by the ghost on the webs.

These treat holders hold a normal size Snickers bar, a regular size package of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, a large PayDay candy bar, and a regular size back of peanut M&Ms. I like the die set because it can be used for any holiday or occasion just by leaving the bat dies off of it. This box could also hold embellishments, a decorated pokey tool, a decorated pen, bows, etc for a swap since it is a deeper treat holder. Here are more photos to help show this depth:

and some of the boxes I made:

Easy treat holder to assemble and I like that it can hold more than a normal size Hershey Chocolate Candy Bar. (If you use those I am sure two of them would easily fit inside this treat holder). It is also free standing and with all the layers, very sturdy. Happy to be able to use more of the holiday printed card stocks on hand and to be able to use more of the already cut papers in the holiday stash!

Hot Foiling Waste Pieces

Recently hot foiled BetterPress plates for Christmas projects and when those were all foiled and die cut I then hot foiled the "waste" foil which is the negative foil. Here is a photo of the sentiments I had hot foiled and die cut out:

And then I hot foiled the negative sheets and added them to the pile of sentiments:

So now I have both the sentiments foiled and the negative foiled and will store them altogether for holiday projects ahead:

I also foiled the negative sheets for the BetterPress Snowflake plate:

For the snowflake negative background I used different colour card stocks to foil them on since I am not knowing now what I will be using them for. But I have them ready for cards, tags, or projects ahead that I will be working on. Always happy to use the negative foil pieces as it saves waste but it also gives you a totally different look depending on the colour card stock you use.

Merry Messages Better Press Plate

At the stamp show I attended on Friday in Duluth, Georgia I was able to buy the BetterPress "Merry Messages" plate. This plate has 5 sentiments with a matching die to cut them out. Here is a photo of the set:

All five sentiments are on one plate and the die to cut them out is also one piece so they make for easy additions for holiday projects:

When I foiled this BetterPress plate I used a variety of colours of foil not knowing what colours my cards and treat holders could be. I used both regular foil and holographic:

The above photo shows foiled pieces and the different fonts these sentiments have. Here is the pile of sentiments I foiled and die cut:

Ready for projects ahead which will be posted soon enough....... Certainly happy Spellbinders had their products at the Stamp and Scrapbook Expo this past weekend that I attended as this is a popular product and when first released it was hard to find it available any where..... Plus with show specials I was a happy customer!

Snow Notes Card #2

Recently received my order from Spellbinders and in that order was the new BetterPress plate "Snowfall Shimmer". I had also ordered the Spellbinders "The Snow Notes" die set. For this card I did not want a lot of different colours on it so I basically only used three -- here is the card:

For the card base I used white card stock and I cut and scored that at the top. I used the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil machine and their opaque white foil to foil the BetterPress Snowfall Shimmer plate. This opaque white foil is a matte finish and it gives the background piece a dimensional look:

I cut the snowmen out using the Spellbinders The Snow Notes die set. Used scraps for the black mouth, buttons, orange for the nose, brown for the hands/arms, and the mint green for the scarves. A light blue scrap was used for the books. I assembled the sentiment strip "Fa La La" from the mint green over a banner piece I cut out of white card stock using liquid glue. Assembled all snowmen.

The two snowmen on the sides are on the card front using tear and tape. The center snowman I used foam tape behind him for dimension. I also used the foam tape behind his book. This photo shows that better:

This card is non traditional colours for the holidays but it really shows off the foiled snowflakes using the opaque foil.

While I was foiling the Snowfall Shimmer BetterPress plate I decided to use different foils and different card stocks so I have extras for future projects:

For the above foiled pieces I used opaque white foil, plain foil, holographic foil and they all foiled perfectly with no over foiling. When I had ordered that opaque foil awhile back I was not sure how it would look but when I foiled this new Better Press plate I wanted to try all the foils I have in the stash and I wanted to use a lot of different coloured card stocks. These are all from the stash, with many different manufacturers, so they are not all Hammermill and they still foiled beautifully. Happy to have so many pieces ready for projects ahead! LOVE this press plate and the new Snow Notes die set that Spellbinders has released for new holiday projects!

Snow Notes Card #1

Just received my new order from Spellbinders that included their new The Snow Notes die set:

The first card I made I used blue card stock from Close To My Heart and it foils beautifully. I used a holographic foil for the background and I foiled the new BetterPress Snowfall Shimmer press plate for that. I cut out my snowmen from a piece of white card stock and all other colours I used are scraps. Here is my card:

The card stock base is white card stock cut and scored at the top. I trimmed my foiled background piece to the size I needed for the card front and then I sponged the edges of this piece using a light blue ink. I assembled all the snowmen. For the sentiment strip "Fa la la" I cut that out of the blue card stock and I cut the banner piece behind that out of holographic foil to match the foiled background. With all pieces assembled I put the card together.

Used liquid glue to put the snowflake background on the card front. Put the two snowmen on the sides on the card using tear and tape. For the center snowman I put that on the card front using foam tape to give him some dimension. Here are photos to show the holographic foil on the card front:

Easy card to assemble and happy to be able to use more card stock scraps for all the smaller pieces. Fun die set and when you die cut the pieces they emboss your cut image -- on the snowmen there is an embossed area on the die cut piece so you know where to put the carrot noses. On the music books the white pages are also embossed so you know where to place the book cover piece. Fun holiday card!

Road Trip Adventure

Every year my PIC (stamping Partner In Crime) and I plan out what stamping shows we plan to attend throughout the year... But more and more shows are no longer and more and more scrapbooking or paper crafting stores have closed.... In the past we have gone to shows in Columbia, SC, Raleigh, Hampton, VA, Chantilly, VA, and Sevierville, TN.. ..  This year started out with the first show in February in Columbia, SC and no other show was in the mix...... We went to the show in Columbia this year and this is the first year there were NO coupons offered or show specials or anything...... when we left there we had both said making the 3 1/2 hour trip there next year might not be a good idea.....

Fast forward to about a month ago - I had gotten an email from Brass & Bliss (Rubbernecker Stamps) saying they were going to shows and to come and see them there -- I clicked on their Events page to see what shows they would be at and decided that Duluth, GA would be the closest to us here in Raleigh. I checked into it to see how far, hotels, etc and then let my PIC know I would like to go to this show and would she want to also come along? She agreed so I made hotel reservations and plans were in place.  Once again hubby agreed to be our Cuber Driver -- Crafters Uber Driver for this trip....

We left in the dark on Thursday morning and returned home in the dark on Friday night.... First photo is us leaving NC for South Carolina:

The route we went took us by Greenville, SC which is the town that the Recraft Store is in so we wanted to stop there on our way towards Atlanta and shop. This store sells new/gently used craft items and our last trip there, (we stopped after the disappointing stamp show in Columbia on the way home), we found lots of paper crafting supplies to bring home:

We were there about 45 minutes and we both found some good finds to bring home. Here is a photo of new to me items:

Spellbinders hot foil in red $2 ea, a small SU label punch $3, Anna Griffin snow embossing folder set for $3, Nuvo drops for $1 ea, stamps were 50 cents each and a small jelly bean die from Cuttlebug for 25 cents. I also picked up a large white plastic bin (from HobbyLobby) for $2:

We left there and ate lunch at a near by Olive Garden and then headed out towards Atlanta:

The show was put on by Stamp and Scrapbook Expo and it was held at the Gas South Convention Center in Duluth, Ga.  Our hotel was also in Duluth and it was a 6 minute ride from the hotel to the show so it was very easy to get around there. Here are some photos of the convention center complex and it is very nice:

Since we had never gone to a show here we were not sure how many people would be there and with the show starting at 9AM we decided we would get there about an hour early which we did. This was a good idea as there were lines already formed when we arrived. We bought our tickets and signed up for door prices and all attendees were given this bag for shopping:

The bag is sizable and it can easily hold 12x12 card stocks as well as larger items. We had also bought a tote bag with us but this worked out well because we both ended up using both our tote bags as well as the new black shopping bag...... Prior to this show we could sign up online for show coupon notifications from the show vendor as well as all the sellers at the show. I printed out coupons for Creek Bank Creations and then printed out the link from the show vendor for coupons for vendors at the show. Once we bought our tickets and were waiting in line for the show to start lots of the vendors came out and showed us samples of their new products, passed out more show coupons, and told us of show specials they had at their booth. Prior to the show I had checked the vendor list and I knew I would want to shop the Brass & Bliss booth first as I was looking for two stamps I had seen shown on their website so that was my first stop. Here are the two stamps I bought:

These are clear background stamps - stamp on the left is the Frosty Background stamp and that has the words to the Frosty the Snowman song. The cheesecloth stamp on the right will add lots of texture and dimension to backgrounds. Brass & Bliss had all their products listed as under $20 max for the show and lots of deals in their booth - here is what I bought:

Prices on items, with coupons and show specials are not what we paid. This year the Stamplistic booth was also selling Spellbinder products so that was my second stop..... Spellbinders had just released their Wonderland Collection, the Merry Moments Collection, as well as their Country Christmas Collection. I am a member of their Small Die of the Month Club so being a member of one of their clubs I can order from a new collection before it is posted to their online store for all shoppers to shop. When I had seen the Snow Notes die set and the Simon Hurley North Pole Sentiments die set I wanted to order them but they sold out before I could.... I knew Spellbinder products would be in the Stamplistic booth but with these new collections being so popular and selling out in multiple places I did not expect to see them at the show.... We go to the booth and over to the Spellbinders section and I was so happy to find all the newest products were there!! So here is what I have gotten over the last two days of Spellbinder products:

This order arrived this morning in my mailbox - my Small Die of the Month, along with the Snow Notes die set on the right and the Better Press plate, Snowfall Shimmer, which I will use to hot foil a background. I was happy to pick these items up at the booth at the show:

the 3D embossing folder, Christmas Cameos shown above and these two sets:

was happy to get this at the show:

and when I first saw this Better Press Plate it was sold out everywhere so happy I own it now:

this press plate has the dies with it as well so once I hot foil it I can easily cut out all the sentiments for projects I am working on:

I also shopped the PhotoPlay booth and LOTS of deals there -- all products with orange sticker were $5  and the Halloween word stamp and die set was like $12.00 for the pair:

The owner said starting next month PhotoPlay will have an online store open to the public and if we were to sign up with him for notifications we could get two free products - so I signed up and here is a photo of my two free products:

Scrappy Boy Stamps also had show specials and I picked up this die set for 15% off:

a photo of the back of this die with a show special stencil for $5:

then off to Creek Bank and here is what I brought home - and with show specials/coupons some of these items were free:

and

Second to last stop was at ScrapThat! booth and I bought packs of card stock for Fall projects ahead. This card stock is 100# weight and 25 sheets for $5.99 and not the $14.00 per pack of 25 that SU sells theirs for so I was happy to pick these up!

On the way out we stopped and each of us bought these cuter than cute table top glue holders:

In the photo I put a bottle of glue I had on my table top but this holder also holds Art Glitter glues, the Bearly Arts, Aleene's, and others. Here is the name of their company:

My holder is red for my craft room and my PIC picked the purple stand for her craft room. Their website is: pajamacrafterstamps.com .   Cute glue holder!

When we left the show and walked through the convention center lobby I stopped to take this photo of the art item hanging in the center of the room on the ceiling:

In this large circle are glass or plastic leaves hanging from fishing line and with the light from the windows it is very pretty. The leaves are all different colours and they hang at different lengths so it is very dimensional. Pretty....

The show was very busy so I would say with all the attendees there paper crafting is not going away anytime soon.... YAY   They also had scrapbooking crops/and classes going on the same time and lots of people were attending that as well..... PIC and I talked it over on the way home and we WILL be going back next year for sure..... It was great!  Happy to have a good show after the disappointing show we had attended in February in Columbia, SC...... Big thanks to hubby for the driving us there and back and spending time taking us here and there...... Back to crafting!!!
