Reindeer Bow Embellishment

October release from Scrapdivadesigns.com has both fall and Christmas die sets included. I ordered her small reindeer bow die set to make Christmas embellishments. This die set is available in a small, medium, and large size but I just ordered the smaller one. Here is a photo of the two sheets of dies in this set:

I wanted to make my reindeer bow to sit on a rosette for the base of my embellishment. I went through my stash of rosette dies and I used the Sizzix/Tim Holtz rosette dies #662691:

I used green polka dot card stock from the stash and cut out two of the scalloped rosette pieces. I put them together using tear n tape and then used hot glue to form the rosette shape. Long ago I made a tool so that when I make rosettes using hot glue I do not have to touch the hot glue using my hands. This tool makes it easy to press the rosette flat into the hot glue:

Once the glue is set I can easily lift off this handle and it is non stick because I cut a circle of the brown craft mat for the bottom of this tool and the hot glue does not stick to it:

I used E6000 to put this craft mat circle onto this tool handle and it has not come off - I made this a few years back and it gets a lot of use when I make rosette embellishments.

Here is my Reindeer Bow Embellishment I made:

This Reindeer Bow die set was designed by Jenn Cascell (she has a channel on YouTube) for Scrapdiva Designs. For my bow I cut a solid piece of white card stock as a base for the reindeer and layering parts. I then cut out a reindeer base using kraft card stock. I used liquid glue and put this onto the white card stock base. I cut two pink ear pieces using scrap pink card stock. Sponged the edges of those and glued them to the ears. For the antlers I wanted those a little darker than the ears so I used recycled thin cardboard to cut out the antlers. Used liquid glue to put the antlers on the kraft reindeer base piece. For the tails of the bow - this die set does not come with layering pieces for those so I partially cut out the base piece using printed card stock from the stash for my bow tails:

I made the layered bow using this red print and added a red and white striped card stock for the bow layers. I put the bow together using liquid glue and let that dry. I had seen the reindeer bows that Christine (shabbypinkhouse on YouTube) showed on her channel and she had added fine gold thread and red glittered circles to the antlers of her reindeer to mimic a strand of lights. That brings in gold so I decided on my rosette to use gold glittered tulle from my stash and cut two circles of this to put on top of my rosette:

In with my rosette die sets I have heavy weight white card stock circles I punched out that fit the sizes of rosettes I make. My rosette is 2 1/4" so I used that size circle and laid it on the tulle and then used scissors to cut around my white circle to make my circle tulle layers for the top of the rosette. I used a small amount of hot glue to the center front of the rosette and put the tulle on my rosette and used my tool to press this tulle into the hot glue. With the tulle on the rosette I used hot glue to add the bow to the front of the reindeer piece and then used hot glue to put the reindeer onto the rosette and let that set up.

I cut a piece of the glittered gold thread a bit bigger than I would need to wrap around the antlers. I used a small circle punch and punched out red glittered card stock circles to put on my gold thread. I used liquid glue to add the red circle over the thread to hold the thread in place. Once that was done I trimmed the thread to the length I wanted and I added a couple more red glittered circles to the antlers. Fun embellishment to put together and a good use for scraps of printed holiday papers.  This small reindeer bow measures approx 3" wide by 3 5/8" high so it is a good size. I think the largest die set is over 4x4 1/2 so this can be used on a bag topper, etc.

Thanks to Jenn Cascell for designing this reindeer bow die set and to Christine (shabbypinkhouse) for sharing her idea to add a strand of Christmas lights to the antlers of her reindeer.

Bunny Rosette Easter Embellishment

Used the KS Crafts Egg Rosette die set from their Jan 2026 release for these Easter embellishments:

Stash or cash - the KS Crafts Egg Rosette die set was the last die set I had bought from their Jan release. This egg rosette I made is the small one and it measures approx 3" high x 2 3/4" wide. For all my rosettes I used plaid printed card stock from the stash. Here is the die set:

I cut the two pieces and folded the rosette and used tear n tape to put the two strips together. I used hot glue to form the egg rosette:

As with all the rosettes I make I use my little tool I put together so I do not burn myself touching the hot glue - this is a sponge handle that I attached a circle from a brown craft mat to the bottom using E6000 adhesive and once I add the hot glue and press down the rosette into the glue I use the tool I made to press it all together and hold it until the hot glue cools:

With all the rosettes cut out, attached and formed, I then wanted to use sparkle tulle on the rosette. I used the KS Craft Eggs die set I just used for my Eggs and Ovals Easter card and I used one of the dies to trace the shape onto scrap white card stock and cut that out with scissors for a pattern piece so I could cut out the tulle to the egg shape. Here is the pattern pieces I cut out and I will keep with the die set for use again:

With the rosettes formed I hot glue two pieces of the sparkle tulle to the front of the rosettes and this will be behind the bunny. For the bunny I used a die set from the stash:

I cut all the bunnies out of white card stock, ears, nose, and cheeks were cut out of scrap pink card stocks. Black scraps were used for the eyes. I put all face pieces on bunny and I wanted the bunny to be sturdy so I cut out a second bunny from white card stock to adhere my bunny to. I used liquid glue to put the two bunny pieces together. Here are items I wanted to put on my rosettes:

The flower dies are from the bunny set I used and the carrot is a die from Impression Obsession/IO Stamps. I used all scraps to cut those out and used liquid glue to assemble them. When you make rosettes in any shape the highest part of the rosette is where the hot glue is that joins your pieces together to make the rosette shape. So to assemble this - I formed the rosettes, put the tulle pieces on the front of the rosette. Used liquid glue and put the carrot behind the bunny on the side. Behind the eyes of the bunny I put pop dots to level the bunny off since his body is over the hot glue where the rosette holds together and that is the high point of the rosette. Used hot glue to put the lower body of the bunny onto the rosette.

For the flowers I used liquid glue and put those onto the bunny and then used liquid glue to add the bow and crystal gem to dress the bunny up.... since this is not a circle rosette I want it to keep its' shape well so I used the Eggs die set again and cut out an egg using white card stock to go behind my rosette to make it sturdy:

The back of the rosette before egg backer added:

Used liquid glue to add this egg backer piece:

This backer piece will also be good when I attach this embellishment to a project and it also will keep the egg shaped rosette. Easy rosette to assemble and a fun embellishment for Easter:

Can easily add a sentiment strip or use them as is. Happy to also be able to use more card stock scraps on these as well.

Halloween Lollipop Embellishments

KS Crafts just released their July 2025 release of new Halloween dies. I placed my order and that arrived yesterday:

I ordered the Spiderweb Garland set, the Candy Bar Wrapper set as well as:

the Mixed Witch Hats set, and the favorite, the Halloween Lollipop die set. Here is a photo of some of the Halloween Lollipop embellishments I made today:

So far I have only made the Ghosties, the Bats, and the Jack O Lanterns. Here is a photo of the dies on the magnet sheet for storage:

The die set also has a die for making an eyeball (shown on far right) but I have not made that yet. I may just use it as a base and have it hold a little witch hat. For the Ghosties I used plain white card stock and sponged the edges of that with light gray ink, then a glittered white card stock, and then a mirrored white card stock:

Bows were punched out using a mini bow punch from HobbyLobby. For the Bats I used glittered black card stock and a mirrored black card stock and again used a larger bow punch from HobbyLobby and hot glued a flower from the stash to the front of the bow:

The Jack O Lanterns has a plain card stock - sponged the edges of that, along with a glittered orange card stock, as well as a mirrored card stock:

All lollipop base dies were cut out of black 110# card stock from Mikes. These will all make good embellishments for Halloween projects ahead --- moved things around in the craft room and thought I would share a favorite comic strip I laminated and it hangs off a shelf by the craft table:

Crepe Paper BOO Day Embellishments

Crepe paper flowers were made following a pattern from Septeria I had seen on YouTube long ago. I made orange, black, pink, and purple flowers. (The camera shows the purple as dark blue but they are purple):

For my flowers I used 7 layers of crepe paper and used a 1 3/4" circle pattern I have in my stash to trace onto the crepe paper for my circle. Used scissors to cut the circle stack out:

As shown in the video I used a small stapler and stapled the center of the circle stack to keep them together. Then I scrunched up each layer and here is what the flower looked like before I opened it up:

Once all the flowers were opened I put them in a scrap cardboard box and sprayed them with a can of spray starch to help the flowers keep their shape since crepe paper is thinner:

The spray starch gives them some shape but they are not overly stiff. Once thoroughly dry I put the flowers in a box with the Witch Brooms I had made before for storage for upcoming BOO Day projects:

Also made two orange fringe flowers - shown in photo with pink flowers:

Also made some crepe paper fringe for gift bags or tags for future projects using 6 layers of the crepe paper - black, orange, and pink layered with hot glue and I used the fringe scissors by M Stewart for those:

The fringe strips do not have the spray starch on them as they hold the scrunched shapes well. Easy embellishments to make for Halloween projects ahead!

More BOO Day Embellishment Parts

Of course when Stampin Up had released the Bewitching Bundle I had not seen this and I did not order it.... but had seen projects here and there from this bundle I liked but not the SU price..... forgot about it until I wanted to make Halloween embellishments and I liked that witch hat that punch made.... went to Ebay and put in a watch for the SU Bewitching Bundle so I could decide what price I was willing to pay with my craft room budget...... there were a lot of the sets on Ebay but for $50, $60, or higher with shipping. . . too high for my budget.  No hurry so just put in the watch and waited.... Finally a price I was willing to pay and the condition is mint..... my set arrived this week and here is the stamp set:

and the stamps:

and the matching punch:

To start with I wanted to make up the witch hats using glittered black card stock. I soon discovered the only glittered black card stock I have is scraps - so I need to buy more - but the scraps I have have a white core. Punched out all the hats from the glittered card stock and then I punched out hats using scrap solid black card stock. I used liquid glue to put the solid card stock behind the glittered card stock. (I wanted the back of the hats to be black on my projects I will use them on).  Once those layers were dry I used a black Sharpie pen to go around the edges of the hats to cover the white edges. I used glittered green card stock for the band across the hat. To put the green band onto the glittered black card stock hat I used Beacon 3 in 1 glue. Set those aside to dry.

Using small flowers from the stash I added a flower to the hat bands using hot glue. Here are the finished hats:

To punch out hats with hat pointing in one direction I punched out the hats with the glittered black side facing up. To get the hat pointing in the other direction I turned the glittered black card stock over, with the white side up, and punched out the hats. Here is a better photo of the hats showing the glittered card stock:

I turned over a few finished hats to show the Sharpie marker covered the white edges:

Happy I was able to find this bundle on Ebay for a better price than SU originally sold it for and in the condition it is! These witch hats will look good on matchbook holders, treat bags/boxes, or on a Halloween embellishment banner. The punch makes a good size witch hat so they can even be used alone on a project.

Fall Embellishments

Used items from the stash to make some fall embellishments for holiday projects ahead. First I made these banner embellishments:

First I made the folded banners using card stocks from the stash and the Ruffles and Doiles die set from Coco & Reno. I used liquid glue to keep that folded. Wanted to add more gold across the front of the banner so I used a die set from Sunny Studio and I used their rick rack die and cut out some gold foil poster board from the DollarTree:

For this banner:

It is hard to see but I did not want a wide rick rack piece so after I had die cut a regular piece with the rick rack die I then put this die on the edge of the cut poster board with a little of the gold foil showing and die cut that again - this gave me two die cut rick rack pieces:

Here are the two pieces die cut from one pass in the machine:

Here is a better photo showing the thinner rick rack piece across one of the banners:

For the rosettes I used the Sizzix rosette die set:

I used hot glue to put these together using my make-shift tool so I did not touch the hot glue:

The tool is one of the handles for ink blending and on the bottom of this tool I have glued with E6000 a circle of my brown craft no stick mat:

Used my circle patterns from 110# weight card stock to cut out two pieces of sparkle tulle to put on top of the rosettes:

I wanted to use a gold foil circle behind the banner in the center for the rosette to be in front of. Once I punched out the 2" circles I decided to put three of those behind the banner and I did that using liquid glue. To make these circles more sturdy I cut a piece of white 110# weight card stock one inch wide by 3 1/4" long and I used tear and tape to add this to the back of the circles:

Using two word dies from ScrapDivaDesigns I cut the words out of the gold poster board and the shadow pieces from solid card stock scraps. Used liquid glue to put the words onto the solid shadow pieces and set those aside to dry. With the rick rack pieces across the banner pieces I used tear and tape to put the banners onto the gold circles. Then used liquid glue to put rosette in the center of the banner. Used a dab of liquid glue to put the tulle on the rosette front. Used gold metallic thread to put on top of the tulle and then hot glue to put the word/shadow piece across the front of the rosette. Added holographic sequins to the banners for some sparkle and shine:

Also made some of the embellished ticket embellishments I had seen long ago made by Septeria on YouTube. Used scraps for mine and a ticket corner punch:

Here is a photo of how to make the tickets using her pattern:

In the photo the green piece, 1 1/4" wide by 2" long is the larger ticket that is the bottom ticket. The piece on the right is the top ticket and that is 1" wide by 1 3/4" long. I used a ticket (photo punch) punch for the corners for both sizes and with all four corners punched these look like tickets - like the plaid piece on the lower right of the photo. I used foam tape to put the smaller ticket on the bottom ticket piece for dimension. I used a 1" circle punch and punched out a circle from solid card stock. Used a 7/8" circle punch for the second circle on top of that. Used liquid glue to stack those.

For the small banner under the pumpkin I used the Sentiment Banner die set from Pink & Main. For the little pumpkin I used a 1/2" circle punch and punched out three circles. I sponged the edges of those and put them together with liquid glue. Cut a stem using scissors and glued that to the back of the pumpkins. Added some small gems from the stash to the front of the tickets.

Fun embellishments to make for Fall and Thanksgiving projects and happy to use more dies from the stash and more of the scrap card stocks.
