Faux Ribbon Woven Easter Card

Had seen Holly on the YouTube channel for Karen Titus show her Faux Ribbon Woven card technique so I made a card for Easter using her inspiration and tips. Here is my Easter card:

Cash or stash -- all products I used for this card were in the stash so happy to get use out of more craft room items..... My card base is a peachy pink card stock. For my faux ribbon strip on the left side of the card front I followed Holly's instructions and I used a grid pattern. She used grid paper for her grid but I do not have any grid paper. I do have extra grid sheets I had bought at Staples long ago to make grid sheets for my Mistis so I have those on hand. Following her pattern I made a grid for this faux ribbon technique:

Using her instructions I wrote notes and I will keep those with the grid sheet so when I use this technique I will have all instructions with my grid:

Using pink card stock as my base I looked through my double sided card stock stash and found a small printed card stock with pink in it. I cut my strips as she instructed - I cut them 1/2" wide by 6" long and then I cut those in half so all my strips were 1/2" x 3". I put those on my 2" x 5 1/2" white ribbon base using my ATG. With that panel done I put the panel on a light pink base cut just a little wider than my ribbon base for the card front. Set this aside.

As she does in her video one of her cards she used a paper doily and I have one left in my stash so I also used my white doily cut in half for my card front. Used a 3" circle punch and punched out a yellow gingham circle for the card front. To make this gingham print circle more sturdy I also punched out a white card stock scrap and put that behind the gingham circle using liquid glue. For the bunny I used this die set from my stash:

I cut him out of white card stock and assembled him sponging the edges of his pink ears and pink nose. I also cut out a second white card stock bunny to put my bunny on to make it sturdy. Using gray ink I sponged the edges of the bunny piece. For the eggs and carrot behind my bunny I used two dies from the stash from Impression Obsession/IO Stamps:

Both dies cut out multiples so I have extras for other projects. Used scraps to cut these dies out and used matching inks to sponge the edges of them all. For the card front I used the ATG to put my faux ribbon panel on the left card front over a paper doily I had cut in half and I put that on the right card front using liquid glue. With the panel and doily on the card front I put my gingham circle over both the doily and panel piece - I turned the circle so my gingham check would look like it is on the diagonal. I used thinner foam tape behind the bunny. I did not remove the foam tape backing yet as I laid the bunny onto the circle piece for placement while I used liquid glue to put my four eggs and one carrot where I wanted them to be behind the bunny. With those in place I removed the backing of my foam tape and placed the bunny in place on the gingham circle.

For the greeting I used Prom Queen ink by Simon Hurley and this Easter stamp set:

North Coast was affiliated with Our Daily Bread Designs stamps and that company is now called Divinity Designs. I stamped the "Happy Easter!" on scrap white card stock using pink ink and I cut that out using a banner die set from Divinity Designs. Used a scrap of pink card stock to put the greeting on and put that sentiment strip across the front of the bunny using tear n tape. Added yellow gems from the stash.

IRL you can see the dimension of the bunny being on foam strips but it does not show well in the photo of the finished card:

Fun ribbon technique. Altho I used double sided card stock you could easily use single sided papers that compliment each other as well.. Very easy technique to add to a card front and a good use of scraps and small pieces of card stock. Thanks to Holly for sharing her tips and pattern!
