Laminated Seed Packet Treat Holders

Using a seed packet die set from the stash I made four fall themed seed packet treat holders to use for a Fall treat or for a Thanksgiving treat. I used more of the napkins I recently laminated for these. Here are the laminated napkins before I die cut them out:

With the thickness of the napkin and the laminating sheet I was not sure how these would be to die cut out a shape but the die worked the first pass through the die cutting machine. To try this out I used another laminated napkin - Pink Flamingo - and I die cut a sample:

I  know with vellum liquid glue will show through the vellum so I was not sure how the one layer laminating sheet over a printed napkin would take the liquid glue. But since these laminating napkins have a rice paper texture I thought the liquid glue would work:

With the first sample made and the glue looked fine and held up better than tear and tape on this slicker surface, I die cut out the pumpkin seed packets I wanted to make. The pumpkin napkin has an over all pattern with lots of pumpkins on it but it is directional so I made sure I had the pumpkins going in the right direction for cutting out my seed pockets. These photos show the die cut packets with a liner piece I added to them:

I wanted to add a liner piece as I am using this seed packet backwards for the fronts of my treat holders. To make the liner pieces I laid the seed packet die over my plaid card stock and trimmed away my side panels and then die cut the center piece out. I was trying to use scrap pieces of printed card stocks so I did not have full sheets - otherwise I could have die cut out another seed packet in the print and just cut off the side and bottom flaps using the trimmer. Using liquid glue on the back of the printed liner I put this in the seed packet and then I added glue to the back flaps of the seed packet and then the bottom flap to form the seed packet. Here is a photo showing the front and back of the seed packet after I added the liquid glue and you can not see the glue through the laminated napkin:

Not sure how I will decorate the seed packet treat holders but I used a scallop punch and punched out scallop circles using the printed card stocks and used a piece of cream card stock and punched out circles that I will put in the center of the scallop circles. I can stamp on those or maybe put a Fall icon embellishment or something for decoration when I use these. For the plaid and striped liner printed card stock I die cut the liners straight on the patterned paper and then die cut them diagonally as well:

These treat holders will hold fun size candy bars and it can also hold a gift card if I wanted to use it for Christmas or a birthday treat. Love the laminating napkins as there is a lot to make with them and happy to get them out of their bin and used in this craft room!
