Road trip release day . . .

Sad that there are no local paper crafting stores in my area to shop but where there is a will there is a car..... I wanted to drive to a paper crafting store about 2 hours from here for a release day of fall products I had seen in preview videos.... decided to leave right from work and make the trip -- DH picked me up and off we went....

Happy to be able to get new products on the day they were released and not to have to wait for an on line order to arrive... I had emailed the store earlier in the week to be sure they would be carrying this new release and they said they were. I asked if they could hold a couple of the new products for me to be picked up the day of the release after work and they were nice enough to do that....

Yesterday I pulled out lots of scrap card stocks for my die cutting session --

Finished die cutting everything for projects ahead:

When I got to the store I walked around and picked up a couple of other items I had on my shopping list and I also bought two new ink pads and re inkers for projects ahead. When I was at the register I asked for the items on hold for me and while the gal was getting those I saw on the counter next to the register were about 12 boxes of the new Precision Glue Press by My Sweet Petunia (MISTI) with customer names on them.... next to that stack were 2 more of these glue presses so I asked the gal if they were for sale? She said they were -- I picked them up knowing I wanted one for myself  -- and I sent a text to my PIC (stamping Partner In Crime) asking if she also wanted one? She did so I brought the two of them home.... dropped hers off to her house for her the next day.  I had only seen one video featuring this new glue press by MayMay and she showed everything about this new product and she explained what all comes with it. She also shows that you can use other glue bottles with this press so I knew I would get one eventually... but with it being a new product it is sold out at a lot of the on line stores I would shop from.... so happy I was able to pick up two of them for us -- here it is in the box it comes in:

Back to work on my projects and hope to have something finished to post sooner than later.... just happy to be able to pick up the new release and the glue presses!

Shopping and additions - - -

Happy that my pre-order for the Halloween dies by Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions arrived yesterday from DiesRUs. Here are photos of the three dies I ordered:

And put on the magnet card for storage:

Really like the bats/web border die and already have a project in the works using that die. Cute additions for BOO Day projects..

Also had ordered Halloween words by KSCrafts off Amazon and that die set also arrived yesterday:

I like the words in this set and the shadow die pieces included. The words are:

haunted, boo, potion, candy, and spider

Also - I have taken classes by Bonnie Klass nearby and she sent out an email earlier in the week that her daughter was no longer using her card making supplies and that Bonnie had them all at her house. She said in the email that she was giving these supplies away for any donations we would bring for a nearby food bank. So my PIC (stamping Partner In Crime) asked me if I wanted to go and so we made the plan to go - Once we arrived Bonnie explained she also had items from one of the crafters that I met at classes, Barb.  Barb also had sold items at the customer yard sale that is held by the Enchanted Cottage store in Lewisville, NC, which I shop every year. I used to shop Barb's table at the sale every year and she always had such a great selection and prices. Unfortunately she has passed away so Bonnie was also offering items from Barb's craft room. I was happy to be able to bring these punches home for my craft room:

Happy to have the SU 2 1/2" circle punch as well as the SU large oval punch -- will use that punch to make bunnies, layered pumpkins, or oval pieces for a face. I also picked up a few rectangle frame die sets:

Also picked up brads, an IO berries die, and a clear block - here is a photo of the dies and block:

I use the larger clear blocks when I am gluing projects together and such. Barb had boxes and boxes of the wooden block stamps and I brought 9 of the stamps home with me. I also picked up various packs of SU coloured card stocks that were in a file box -

Will sort those by colour and put those away but happy to find those as well. Sad we have lost a crafter but will be sure to enjoy the products from her craft room that are new to mine.  Thanks to Bonnie for offering us these crafting items and for dropping off our donations to the food bank.

Once my PIC and I left Bonnie's we stopped at Mikes and I picked up some of the solid card stocks that were on sale -- holographic and foil -- for Halloween projects that I am working on... Rarely shop at Mikes anymore due to their small coupons and sales but sometimes you just have to go..... These two packs of specialty card stock should last me so happy to get those and esp on sale.....  Thanks to my PIC for picking me up and driving us all over yesterday!!

Hoping to finish up some of the many projects I have already in progress so I can post them... but my part time job is now a full time job with overtime ( :0( ...... ) so I have limited time for my crafts but do get in the craft room when I can..... So hoping to catch up on posting again soon.....

More Altered Clipboards

More altered clipboards from the Dollar Tree... Made four more of the altered clipboards using card stocks from the stash. This time I used ribbons for decoration rather than the beaded dangle I had made for my clipboard:

Since I was using card stocks from my stash I used different papers - the purple floral printed card stock is from a paper pad by PaperRose from Australia and that card stock has a sheen to it. I was not sure how well it would work with the ModPodge but it did well and did not bubble or anything. The yellow floral card stock is thinner and after I put the ModPodge over it, being wet it looked like it would "lift" or bubble but I let it air dry and it was fine. The beige floral card stock was little thicker and that did well. The black floral card stock is double sided - as is the piece on the back of that clipboard - and that took the ModPodge well.

The clip on the top of the clipboards from Dollar Tree only opens to a certain height so the spiral notebooks I put with them are the 100 sheet notebooks from the Dollar Tree:

For the ribbons I used a 'bulb pin" to attach the ribbons to the clip holder at the top of the clipboard. I used thin satin ribbons from my stash and for each clipboard I used four colours of ribbons. I cut the ribbons to the length I wanted and folded them in half and then put the looped end over the bulb pin and put the ribbon ends through the loop and pulled them tight. Here is a photo to show the ribbons on the bulb pin:

My concern with the satin ribbons is they would slip out of the ribbon loop over time and come off so I used a toothpick and put a dab of E6000 under each ribbon loop and then pulled the ribbon tight and put a clothespin on the ribbons until they were dry and the ribbons do not move so they will not untie with use. The bulb pin opens like a safety pin so I hung them on the left side of the clip that holds the spiral notebook on the clipboard. These four clipboards were made for gals at work that had seen my clipboard and asked me to make them each one. Here is a photo of the first altered clipboard I had made for myself:

These clipboards are easy to put together and make good use of the card stocks in the stash as well as helps to use up more of the ribbons in the stash. Each board looks so different depending on what card stocks or ribbons used and whether or not you paint the edges of the clipboards as I have done for mine
or use the clipboards as they are not painted. I did these 4 clipboards assembly style so they went together quickly - painted the edges, cut the card stocks, adhered the card stocks, added the ModPodge, let dry. Cut the ribbons and glued those onto the bulb pins and let them dry. The gals are quite happy with their clipboards and I did point out to them the ribbons can also be used as a "book mark" for their spiral notebooks since the ribbons are flat. Fun project to put together!
