Recently bought the Cheerful Scarecrow Die set from Waffle Flower to make some scarecrow embellishments. Whenever I buy a die set that needs to be assembled I always make a sample of the die set and tape it to the front of the die set so at a glance I will be able to see not only what the die set looks like but also the size. Here is a photo of the scarecrow the die set cuts out:
The completed scarecrow is about 2 1/4" high so I was happy I was able to use all scraps to assemble him. I think he is cute but rather plain. . . so I went through my leaf dies in the stash and I found a die that cuts out tiny leaves so I cut those out of scrap green card stock.... but even adding the leaves did not finish his look.... so I pulled out the trimmer and cut thin strips of solid card stocks and that gave him a band for his hat. Here is a photo of one of the scarecrows I made showing the leaves and hat band added:
To add a little sparkle I put clear Wink of Stella over the center of the flower for his hat. For my scarecrow cream head/face piece I cut that out of speckled cream card stock. Used a golden yellow for his straw hair and various prints for the scarf pieces. His eyes and mouth are cut out of brown card stock and I used a darker gold card stock scrap for his triangle nose. Here is a photo of the scarecrows I have made using this die set and scrap card stocks:
This die set assembles quickly as the pieces layer together nicely. Lots you could add to him - sponging the edges for dimension, adding gems/bling to the center of his flower, etc.. He is a cute start for a cute Fall/Thanksgiving embellishment.
Here is a photo to show the sample I made with the die set ready for storage when I am done:
Inside the packing is the die set on a magnet sheet with a project sample sheet from WaffleFlower showing a photo of the scarecrow on a project. Another fun project to help use up the scrap stash....
